How to remove wall tile in a bathroom
the tile has been on the walls and sink for 53 years, its yellow and needs gone to replace with a new vanity and top. What is the best, easy way to do this. We are not young any longer so easy is best. Thank you

Carol McCormack, I am 65 and I would sure hire a professional to do it (if I had the money to do so) or I would figure out some other way to change the look of it, like paint it, add stencils to the new paint job ... something other than remove it. ere are some ideas that won't cost a fortune, DOES cost a bit of labor (but not NEAR what you'd expend trying to rip out the tile) and might be enough to make you happy. I know it's not what you want to hear, but you are going to get honesty from me. Maybe another HOMETALKER will tell you want you want to hear ;)

I do love paint nowadays because with the new technological advances it can be used everywhere for everything (even on furniture and carpeting!)

The first answer says it all. I got into removing wall tile in an old house and regretted every minute of it.
Thank you for responding, however, the tile has to be removed in order for the new vanity and top to go against the wall. Its not a big area only about 18x36 inches. the top of the old vanity is tile but since its being replaced am not worried about it. The reason for replacing the vanity is its only 33" tall. Way to short for us and is only 30" wide. Appreciate you both for taking time to make the suggestions....
