How do I remove spackling from my ceiling?

It is coming down in some places. I want to take it all off and just have a smooth ceiling. Any suggestions?

Spackle is used to fill in holes.
spray it with water from a squirt bottle, wait a little while until it's softened, use a muddling blade or the largest shackling knife that you can find and scrape it off by going in straight lines
If u wet it it will scrap off easily
Cover everything then spray ceiling with warm water then using a WIDE putty knife to scrape wet spackling off.
