Our Great Dane, Lola, loves to lounge across the carpeted floors. We recently had our carpets professionally cleaned but we still smell “dog”. How can we reduce the smell?

  • Call you carpet cleaners back. I have 6 dogs, 6 cats, a canary and a dragon. I have the carpets cleaned every 3 months and mine never smell like dog or cat. No chemicals either, we use vinegar.

I use talcum powder that has a lavender scent. I then wash the dogs, dry them well and vacuum the floor. Works great for me.

If real bad - replace carpet or Call a contractor/professional to run ozone generator - all living things need to be removed from house - plants, pets, etc (including people) - kills odors, bugs, etc... wonderfully and smells almost like a clean pool after (chlorine smell) .

was going to suggest the baking soda also, I use to put on the carpet after everyone went to bed, leave on overnight and then vacuum the next morning do at least once a week.
