My lemon tree is growing out of shape, I live in town house at north county in San Diego California. I asked one gardner that I saw outside my house but they work for home owners assosiation, when I asked they said will do it, but they never showed up. I offered $100.00 to just trim one tree. I don’t know if $100.00 is low. I even ask my neighbor but he is cutting his own trees. Why is it so hard to find a gardner. Please any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

you need to ask the county extension office for a list of certified arborist. This group is trained to trim trees in such a way they won't be promlimatic for many years.

Start by calling a nursery in your area, ask them who they deal with. Next call a land scaping company. You can go online to Home Advisor, this site gives you at least 3 contacts to call. These people are checked out through Home Advisor, for credentials, license, they check everything. They may give you a price over the phone, or they may come out to see what you need done. DON'T tell them how much you'll pay, let them give you a price.

$100 sounds pretty low to me. I would try Homeadvisor.com, they are great for finding any profession you need.

I thought $100.00 was low amount. Yesterday I checked an arborist online, they said their minimum charge is $375.00. However, I will check with Homeadvisor as well. Thank you for your advice.

You might also try Angie's list. They might still have free sign-up and they publish a list regularly that includes special deals-- plumbers for X hours for $, electricians to put in new recessed lighting, etc.-- and they might have a special on arborists.

I am always happy to help. I'm afraid to say your quote from arborist does sound pretty accurate. Home advisor is a great sight though. They will give you a minimum of 3 professionals in your area.
