Hello, I use "the works" toilet bowl cleaner. Don't buy the cheap one that says basic. The one you will want is around $4. With this, you do not even have to scrub. Let it set for a minute and just rinse it off. I also use it on my shower head. I let it sit on there for about a minute and it comes sparkling clean.

Oxalic acid, also sold as wood bleach, removes rust stains from anything like nobody's business.
A product like CLR should help remove it.
