What tree would you suggest I use in my front yard?

I have an old tree that I have to replace. I will probably cut that down and grind the stump. Is there a better way to remove it?

As far as removing, the stump grinder is about it. Only other options are to wait for nature to take it's course, remove with heavy equipment if the stump us not too big, or, my favorite, explosives.

What about a fruit tree? Pie cherries, cherries, Apple, Asian pears?

You may not be able to plant in the same spot due to the roots that are still in the ground where the old tree was. It could hamper root growth.

pour full bottle of cheap cooking oil on it every day for 5 days - then burn it - IF the location is clear enough - no wires - or other things to catch afire next year plant a yellow magnolia
