I have dogs so it's very important I don't keep using all those chemicals on the
lawn..or if you have a better one that I can make at home that would work--please
let me know. Thanks Marsha

    You got it Marsha. Of course a vinegar and soap solution IS chemicals.

  • Boiling water, epsom salt and boiling water, vinegar is what I use. Lots of pets and visiting little kids in my yard, plus I try to be as chemical free as possible.

    If you put down vinegar it will kill anything it touches, including grass. It also sterilizes the soil, so it won't grow anything. Use only where you know it won't destroy anything like on sidewalk and driveway cracks or if you plan on killing off where you want to start a garden and will be amending the soil really well.

    Pour hot water on weeds, wait till they die two days. Next soak with the garden hose, wait one day, then put your hand as close to the ground as possible, and put the weed in your hand and pull. The weed and all should come up.

    Vinegar will kill most weeds but you want to get to the roots if you don't want them to come back. If you want to remove weeds permanently you can douse the plant with bleach, but you won't want to grow anything there again. (Great for patios, walkways). But bleach is also toxic.
