This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Dollar General for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
A spooky entry doesn't have to be expensive. This super-cute, super-frugal entrance can be created by using items from your local Dollar General. It's a great way to greet trick-or-treaters and make your entrance fun and scary. This Halloween craft is sure to get your ghouls in the mood for some fun!
I stopped by the amazing Halloween section at Dollar General and picked up my supplies. I also picked up a plain color rug for my bloody door mat creation.
From the Halloween section I used:
- Spider web (one package will be enough)
- Hanging ghosts
- Creepy cloth decoration (2 packages)
- Beware tape
- Suction cups with hooks (I needed these to hang the decor on the windows)
What about that plain color rug I asked you to pick up?
Lets make a Halloween horror doormat!
In addition to the plain rug, you will need some red craft paint.
Click here to see how to put it all together - including the bloody door mat and the stuffed ghosts on the door.
Give those trick-or treaters a little scare when they ring the bell this year! You'll love this spooky and fun Halloween display!

Save any leftover spider web and use it at Christmas! Twinkle lights look fantastic in it, and you can fluff it to get different snow effects!

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
Cute. I really love the spider web and ghosts placed randomly on the door. I always feel like my door is left undone during Halloween. I'll be trying this; thanks for posting. Quick questions though....looks like you did the webbing on the entry door? How did you get that to stay? When I use the webbing to decorate my porch, I always find rough edges or other areas to tuck the web in or on to hold.
Will the paint hold up if it rains or gets wet? Thinking of maybe using this idea for Christmas rug for my mother in law
Oooo...nice!🖒 What are you going to do this year? Can't wait to see!!😊🎃🕸
