Seasonal wreath decor

I have a gorgeous huge wreath on my front door made by a florist but I would like to find some way of covering it and decorating for the upcoming holidays. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Could you do something subtle? Like for Christmas, add a large bow and maybe just weave in some ornaments? For Thanksgiving, add some pine cones, and orange/brown/yellow ribbon?
Really you will wreck it if you try to add things. Try putting it away on a nail somewhere like a basement - and get one just for fall and winter holidays.

I second the idea of taking it down and retiring it till spring. It's definitely a spring and summer theme and I think adding to it will make it busy.
