Need ideas for making a unique birthday present for my pastor's wife

Tammy Nichols
by Tammy Nichols
She likes things that are rustic, antique looking. We do a secret sister thing at our church and you guessed it she is my secret sister. The problem is she so much better at making crafts and I'm just starting. Does anyone have any suggestions and reasonable. We are not to spend over ten dollars. Her birthday day is this Saturday. She is a fun, caring person and she loves joking and cutting up. But she is a little sad turning fourth.

See if you can find a book on unusual Handy Crafts. You will be able to learn from the research and she will be able to learn something new too....

How about creating a rustic wreath using grape vines to make , decorate it with fresh or artificial flowers and stick a center church type candle in the middle. Alternatively from a 'charity store's or if you have an odd bone China cup and saucer or a small 'cutglass' bowl fill it with fresh strawberries add a pot of (clotted cream) if you have this in the US.

For $10, buy her a Hobby Lobby, Lowe's, or Home Depot gift card. Spend $2 at Dollar Tree for a Secret Sister card and a package of stickers. Let her be the Craft Queen and you be the Magnanimous Benefactor. If you feel you have to buy her something tangible, buy a metal initial for her first or last name. She can do something else to the initial, but she will probably love it as is. Best holiday wishes 😇💖

There is no need to compete with her craft skills just because you want to give her a unique gift. Everyone is talented in different ways, and everyone can give something of themselves to show they love a family member.

Why not give her a quality pair of scissors just so there is something to unwrap. Then for the other part of gift, make, even hand print some individual coupons that say you will come over to her home and do something for her- vacuum, fold laundry, iron, shine mirrors, etc., and bring over some baking.

When you come over, she cuts off the coupon (with the new scissors!) as to what she needs help with, you get to it, while she has time to enjoy her crafts. When you are both done, you can spend sisterly time together over a cup of tea and the cookies that you brought over.
