If your area is small, with three dogs going to the bathroom on it, the poop needs to be kept picked up then spray the area with the hose a couple of times a day. Here's a video on what I always planned to do, but never did.

Hello Nancy Nardone :) It must smell pretty badly to the general public passing by, too. Allowing them to use your front yard instead of letting them out into the backyard is perplexing to me, but you obviously have good reasons not to do that (first impressions of you by the general public are made as they pass the front of your home as see the way it is kept up, or smell it as they walk by it). I don’t know of any products or solutions except to ask ... is it possible to take the dogs for a walk three (or more) times a day ... carrying plastic bags to pick up their deposits, of course.

Our dog never went in the yard as he was walked in the a.m. before the kids went to school, again at noon as they came home at lunch, then after dinner and just before bedtime. Therefore, we have no dog dirt in our yard.

Run the sprinklers for a couple minutes a few times throughout the day. And run at night for at least 5 minutes. A bucket of baking soda and water work well too, but I doubt you have time to run around after 3 dogs all day. I have 6 in my yard so I get what you are going through. I make sure the yard is wet in the morning and that helps till mid afternoon.

@NancyNardone If your backyard is not fenced in, it's time to either litter box train the dogs or start picking up after them in your own yard. That won't take away the urine smell, however. You will need to neutralize your yard. One box of cornstarch or baking soda should cover about 25-36 sq. ft. That's 5' x 5' up to 6' x 6' of area. By off brand to save money. You could also use vinegar, about a cup in a gallon of water. Just pour out a cup of water, pour the vinegar in, then fill squirt bottles with the liquid and apply to dampen the whole yard. This will last about two weeks or until the next rain. And you still need to pick up the poop. If you can't bend over but you do have a grabber, drop 1/2 sheet of newspaper or a paper towel over each pile. Use the grabber to put the waste into a plastic bag you can zip or tie. Put that bag in another bag you zip or tie, and put that in your trash. Every bathroom break, every day. Best wishes 😇💖

Wow I am in NY and don't have sprinklers. I put some baking soda on the grass where the pee was most and it killed all the grass it touched overnight. I adopted two old dogs and have one old dog who has Cushings and takes med. Thank you for answering me. I never had this problem until this year, maby hot dry weather we are not use to or dogs older and not walking so far from the doggie door.

Nancy, it sounds like you're in the same age category I am. It's really hard doing everything that has to be done. Yes, hosing will keep the smell down. What I recently had to do was buy a hose like this. It's light weight and very easy to use. Lots of people say they don't last long, so we'll see! I enjoyed talking to you.

Yes, Nancy, I totally get it ... dog ownership isn’t easy when one gets older and especially when you own THREE dogs! I commend you and think that’s wonderful you are giving them a safe home. I made an error when I typed “we have no dog dirt in our yard”. The word should have been “we HAD no dog dirt in our yard”. We, unfortunately, had to have our dog put down a few years ago now. We also had a rescue cat at the time which helped us get through our sadness but it sure wasn’t easy. I hope you find a product that can help you!

There is something you can add to their food to eliminate the urine smell - I don't recall what it's called but Google should help you! You can also sprinkle baking soda on your lawn, let it sit for a bit, then hose it off.
