IS THERE ANY WAY TO SUCCESSFULLY PAINT OVER THE 50'S TYPE PLASTIC BATHROOM TILE?

Hi Teddie. You should be able to find a epoxy paint that is made to for bathroom tiles.

I used Kiltz over grout and tile. Then I used a good quality paint and painted it. I went back over grout lines a little darker. Some paints in white and beige or tan works well with painting grout the same as tile. I lived there another 5 years and it still looked good.
Sand lightly with 220 grit--prime--paint with approved mold resistant paint.

If its plastic I would try Krylone Plastic paint, and I believe Rustoleum now has a plastic paint also. They have it at True Value hardware store.
