Could you please clarify your question? A photo might also be helpful. 🍁

If it's a mouse hole near the frame of the closet, try sticking some steel wool, like a scouring pad, in the hole. They don't like this. But, it may go somewhere else in the house, if there is a mouse living there. If you do have a mouse, you can get a jar, put some peanut butter in the bottom (they really aren't attracted to cheese all that much) stand the jar upright, tape a piece of rope to the top of the jar and let it hang on the floor. The mouse will climb up to the jar and jump in to get the peanut butter and can't get out. Then, take the jar and mouse outside to a field and let the mouse go. Everything, except mosquitoes and fleas and maybe something else, deserves to live.

Some of your words cut out. If your question is how to close a mouse hole, stuff it with steel wool...Mice can chew through paper, plastic & wood.

caulk it or if it is a larger hole, fill with wood putty then caulk

Stuff in newspape, then cardboard, then spackle over it.

Take the top of a can you had food in and nail it to the hole. You can also stuff the hole with steel wool
