As in fire or cigarette smoke? Cigarette smoke you need to clean the greasy nicotine off first, I use Dollar Tree Awesome Orange in the half gallon bottle, wipe dry, and apply orange or lemon furniture oil, or wax if its waxed before.
If odor remains for either get Room Shocker and put in a small room and let it do its thing.
