There is a rat killer blocks, they eat it and then get thirsty, so they leave the house, find wat er to drink and when they do it kills them. That way you will not have dead rats in the house.
But this way is also extremely dangerous for your pets and kids. I had a dog dying...vomiting and pooping blood...no one knew why. UNTIL...I saw the remnants of a poisoned rat outside. Luckily my dog was saved ...but I would NEVER poison a rat like this.

Rat traps work best..regular snap traps.
