Brr! Drafty windows- how to cut the draft?

Try using a chalk paint with a few coats of polycrylic sealer. You can avoid the sanding steps with that combo.
The easiest way I know to "paint" wooden louvers is to soak them in Ritz dye. Not sure what you could use to soak something as big as doors, though. I used it to do ones for a window (about 3 feet tall) years ago and it worked great. The dye got in all the hard to reach places and didn't gunk up like paint would. We used a kiddie pool to soak them in.
