Fresco Cabinet Re-makeover

I had already painted this little glass door cabinet several years ago, but I felt like it was time for an update.
So I grabbed some Fusion Mineral Paint Fresco, Paint & White Wax, and got creative.
So here's how I had previously painted this cabinet - in Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint with Linen and Eulalie's sky.
I wanted to go for a seaswept fresco look, so grabbed my bag of Fusion Mineral Paint Fresco and added a couple of scoops to Fusion colour, Soapstone - a lovely dark grey.
After mixing it until JUST combined (not too much) and similar to a cottage cheese consistency, I painted it on - or slapped it on and loved the texture it created.
I also added this great applique from a local supplier here in Australia.
When the Fresco layer of paint was completely dry, I got out my Miss Mustard Seed's White Wax which is great for creating a whole new layer of depth and highlighting especially when you have a great textured finish like this.
Simply brush the white wax using a wax brush, into the crevices, and the entire surface. Then wipe off any excess, and buff the finished surface.
Here's how the sides turned out. The dark grey is given almost a white washed effect with that white wax.
And here's the finished look, staged and ready for a new home!
I hope you enjoyed this makeover. See more on my blog at the link in this post.

I think I will try my bathroom cabinet. I haven't been able to find one I like. So, I will buy a new top after I do the cabinet. Keep your fingers crossed.
