How to get rid of bats in the attic?

I have a small hole in my siding that leads to my attic , I would like to plug it , but don't want to trap any bats if their are any in my attic. I live in the eastern part of Nebraska.

    This is really a job for a professional. Moth balls are defeated the one thing that bats hate. You could wait until dusk when they all leave to feed and then plug your hole. The problem is that bat guano is not something that you want to be near. You will need to wear specialized clothing and breathing apparatus. That guano will need to be removed as well. It carries a lot of infectious diseases and can cause a lot of issues in your home.

    Moth balls will drive them out so you can plug the hole. I agree that you should wear protective gear and a respirator to clean up the guano.
