I assume you mean the tiles are worn out, not the glue. You could go with the same or sheet vinyl. That is your choice. If money is tight, pell and stick is the choice unless you feel confident in self applied sheet vinyl. Either way, the old glue has to be properly removed before putting down new tile. or vinyl.

you can use grout to make them stick instead of the peel and stick part
