I belong to a fundraising group and we have parties twice a year to celebrate and these are the centerpieces that I made for this winter event. I am sorry that I don't have a photo of the end of roll bolts before they were cut and painted, mostly because of how comical they all looked filling my car to the brim.
The first thing I did was call my local newspaper and they gave me the end of roll bolts. Yes, they gave them to me. I asked very nicely. These end of bolt rolls filled my Nissan Versa. They are quite long. The next step was to go to Home Depot where I, once again, asked nicely, pretty please with sugar on top if they would cut these to 3 different sizes. The amount of each one didn't matter as you see in this photo. After that, my friend's husband spray painted them all blue. I bought the clear decorated wrapping and figured out how much each roll needed and then cut it out. I wrapped up each bolt, and then decorated each one with ribbon, tinsel garland, etc. Each table got 3 of these in different sizes. The group was able to use them for a few years as centerpieces. They stayed put on the tables because they are fairly heavy. I know you could make these for weddings too with the right colors and decorating. You could even fill them up with candy for birthday party. I used clear tape to hold the wrap on the bolts. The ribbon, garland, etc was tied on tight, a piece of tape here and there to hold on and lucky for me, stayed put.
here is one on my counter top.
Here they all are ready to go to the party. I forget how long this took, I must have blocked it out of mind for a good reason, but it took many hours to make enough for 28 tables. Yes, 28 times 3. Don't make me do math, I play hockey. I also guessed on the money too. It was fairly inexpensive as the paint was the only big cost. I didn't buy the paint so I don't know about that part.
A closer view, these have wired ribbon on them. My fundraising group is associated with our local AHL hockey team, we all cheer on the team and raise money for local charities. Blue and orange are our team colors. Go Tigers!
The centerpieces that took over my tiny Cape Cod style home. Thank goodness for free boxes at Costco.
