Time to bring in houseplants for winter. How can I get rid of bugs?

Re=pot with fresh soil in the next size container,spray the upper and unsides of the leaves with horticultural oil,bring indoors and place in the roper lighting.

Buy some systemic insect product for plants.....sprinkle and water it in the soil two weeks before bringing plants into the house. I have done this for the past three years and seems to work.

If pots/plants not too big, submerse in a bucket of water with a few drops of

Dawn dishwashing liquid added. Leave plants in this solution for say 20 minutes to half an hour. If lots of leaves on plant, swish them around so that all parts are wet. This should drown any bugs including eggs in the soil. Scoop dead/floating bugs off the top of the solution. Then rinse the plant well and let excess solution drain out of the pot. About 1 teaspoon Dawn to a gallon of water. Make sure to rinse well because residual Dawn on plant leaves in the sun can harm the plant.

Before bringing my indoor plants back inside for the fall and winter, I spray them with a product by "safers", it is an insecticidal soap. It is environmentally friendly. Most hardware and large box stores have it.
