To keep squirrels, raccoons, and birds out of your attic, you have to seal every tiny opening in the roof, soffits, air vents, chimneys, windows, seams, doorways, stairs and other areas. Best wishes 💞

Plug up the holes where they are getting in, usually around the soffits by your roof, and also in chimneys that need a cap with a screen.

Moth balls they can’t stand the smell

  • Set no kill traps with peanut butter, plug all holes they use for access and call an exterminator to provide suggestions and show you where and how they are getting in and lastly, replace insulation.

All good advice from Jewell and Sharon; just make sure the squirrels are gone from the attic before starting your sealing. Listen in every room under the attic just in case. Hit the ceiling a time or two. I speak from experience, what a problem getting it to come down the stairs and then trying to trap it!!

Set a live trap. Repair the places where the squirrels are entering.

I agree with the above comments. Set traps with bait they like. Patch up any holes where they might be coming in at. Your problem will not go away on it's own, I'm afraid. Patching up the holes will solve your entire problem.
