Have you ever seen a project that you just HAD to do because it just made you laugh?! We saw this a few years ago and were DYING to do it.
Our old house had a garage with a large empty wall that looked over our side yard. PERFECT location! It could also be viewed by anyone at the car wash next door to us, lol. And we know people there have noticed because some have knocked and asked if they could go into the yard to take photos. icon

A fresh coat of paint to the garage and this project was on it's way! All we needed was a STICKER or stencil with the wording (bought on ebay or make with a Cricut), a long WOOD board and SCREWS to attach to the garage, white PAINT for the board, clear coat SPRAY PAINT, and an assortment of old "YARD TOOLS" and wall hooks/hangers.
A couple coats of paint to the appropriate sized board and let it dry completely, then a wipe down to be sure all dust is off before the next step...
We ordered the black sticker in outdoor grade vinyl from ebay but if you have a Cricut machine you can make your own and if so you then have the option to make it a sticker or a stencil. With a stencil you would be painting the wording on instead.
We found it easiest to align the wording by measuring and making light pencil marks to see where to lay it. We worked in sections pressing the vinyl sticker down onto the board with a hard flat object like a paint stick or credit card. If you want it to last years press, press, press, and get it stuck on well.
Then you will carefully peel the transfer tape off the top of the sticker...
Finally we sprayed it with a clear coat of spray paint to further seal it before attaching it to the garage wall.
Once it was securely screwed into the wall and the assortment of "yard tools" we'd collected from yard sales were hung we were pretty happy with how easy it was to do. Most of the tools we used were old junk ones but a few key pieces we actually use. Some tools are secured into place so kids won't play with them while others that we use can easily be removed.
Great for yard work...but we are prepared in case of zombies...and Halloween!

Love this! What happens with winter time or wet seasons with your tools?

LOVE IT! It would be fun to do to an inside wall, too, especially if you use your garage for a Halloween party overflow!! Securing the tools sounds like a good safety precaution; wouldn't want to zombies jabbing you!
