I was at a store and saw a glass magnet with a beach scene picture behind it. $5 each. I thought, well I can make some thing similar. This is a simple project, but you can create something person for your fridge or as gifts. All you need is a printer, favorite pictures, mod podge and dollar store clear gems. Oh and magnets!
super easy and all found at the dollar store!
Printed off some favorite pictures and make them small, thumbnail size. Clear gems and mod podge.
Printed on plain white paper my pictures... traced the gem with a pencil.
sample photos printed on plain whote copy paper...
Put glue on picture and then stick to the bottom of the clear gem... now note that some gems were clearer than others, so I have the whole bag to choose from.
Once stuck to the back of the gem, then I painted on mod podge to the whole back. Let them dry.
All dry and now ready for magnets to be glued on by the hot glue gun...
Up close picture of my gem magnets... easy and cute.

Cute! Can you just use a regular picture to do this or do you have to use the white copy paper?

When you say you glued your pictures onto the glass beads do you mean you put Modge Podge onto the face of the pictures? Does it dry clear? How long does it take to dry?

  • Would you be able to tell me exactly what I need? I do my shopping on eBay. Also, I am clueless at crafts except when it comes to gift baskets, gift jars and wreaths.

Thank you! A total project for gift-giving!
