We have a "spot bot", Several companies make them. One end has a detergent solution, the other end the dirty water collector. A trigger on the hose issues the cleaner in a spray, then the vaccum with a brush on the end can be rubbed into the wet cleaner AND suck up the gunk. We have found this better than ANY of the surface cleaners that do not suck up the gunk. We wore one out, and are on our second. VERY good.

I use Dollar Tree Homestore Foam Carpet Cleaner and the liquid spray for stubborn spots and a soft carpet brush I've put on a long pole, works like a charm for me and all my clients.
Depending on the stain I like Folex, spray it on and it fades away, blotting may be needed.

I have my go to product that hasn't let me down yet......I love 409 carpet spot and stain remover. Buy at Walmart and very affordable. Works great with spots/stains from 10 grandchildren and 2 dogs!!!
I mix a small amt. of hydrogen peroxide with equal amt. of Dawn blue dish soap - works wonders. Blend it with fingers firmly into the stain, then wipe off.
