This easy-to-make wood photo stand with clip is a fun way to display your pictures. Painted brown with white laces, this football-themed stand is personalized for football photos.
My kids enjoy playing team sports, and love for me to display their most recent photos around the house. I painted a wood canvas background football brown with white laces to display this year's football team photo. Read on for the step-by-step directions.
You could easily tailor this project to fit just about any sport. For example, paint the wood canvas basketball orange with black stripes or baseball white with red laces.
First, use a foam brush to apply gel stain to wood canvas (according to gel stain package directions.) I applied two coats of gel stain, allowing the stain to dry in between coats.
Next, use a thin paint brush to paint white football laces on the canvas. Allow to dry completely.
Finally, use a strong multi-surface adhesive to attach a metal clip to the wood canvas. Allow adhesive glue to dry according to package directions.
The clip will hold the photo in place, so be sure there is enough room for the photo to hang down. I found that a 3.5 x 5 photo fits best.
Open the metal clip to add a photo. Stand the wood frame on its bottom edge to display.
The metal clip makes it easy to change out the photo whenever you want. We use ours to display the latest team photo.
