    I think it depends on your budget and how large a K-cup coffee maker you want.

    Ervine - I think you are referring to a brand name Keurig , which makes a coffee maker that uses little one serving pods. Competing companies have also made similar coffee makers that use the same pods. These coffee makers are expensive, and the pods are as well. You can purchase a little coffee maker that makes one cup, that does not use the pods. A lot less expensive for regular use. Way out of my price range as the pods cost about .50-$1.00 each for a cup of coffee you are making your self.

    Actually the coffemakers are often quite affordable if you get them on sale. In fact sometimes a basic one is cheaper than a regular carafe coffee maker. It is the printer/cartridge scenario all over again...cheap printer, expensive ink...

    You can just buy the refillable K-Cups or knockoffs that say they are compatible, and use your own coffee.
