What can I do with a formica vanity top counter to update inexpensivel

The counter top is white, and the vanity is also white. The bathroom has a surf theme so the doors on the vanity are a distressed wood. I have a photo of the doors on the vanity while in the making but not finished to give an idea.

I used a good, vinyl contact paper on my kitchen sink counter top...It comes in all colors, styles, etc,,I bought the one that looks like granite..Everyone who came in my house said wow, didyou get granite counter tops..The buyer who bought it at the time loved it and thought it was granite also...Its removable and easy to work with

With surfaces that get alot of use I have found that it's best to keep the original vanity top but invest in some colorful accesories that make the room "pop" with color. For your purposes a beautiful bright teal added to all that white would be amazing. Have fun with color!!
Have you considered making a thin veneer cover for your formica that matches the door you're making? You would frame the edges in matching wood. I am replacing an old molded sink vanity with sealed barnwood and a small above grade sink bowl.
Contact paper. Epoxy paint or use glass tile sheets. The tile sheets are not that expensive for what you are dping And they have a wide a variety.
There's some stuff you get at a hardware store that involves cleaning the formica thoroughly, putting glue on a small area, putting the sand-gravel stuff from the kit over the glue, patting it down, and moving to the next area.
Our handyman bought the stuff and brought it home, and I don't think I ever knew the name, but the people in your hardware store will know what you mean. It comes in many different shades.
My husband was so delighted with the look that we wound up with it on the top of a credenza we had bought from a school that was closing--it was covered with green formica that looked, if possible, worse than the orange formica in the kitchen.
Not content with that, he even covered the kitchen floor with it!

A bag of Ardex Cement will create a wonderful countertop for you if you don't mind the work. Sanding, priming, cementing, sanding, sealing. All work the time. Luxury for the budget friendly. Best of luck.

I don't have a smartphone, and my cameras don't let me post pictures.
But it covered up a horrible expanse of orange formica and orange vinyl and orange you name it, and it looks slightly beige with occasional darker spots.
