Google "bathroom makeover pictures" Lots and lots will come up. Get ideas from them. Clean everything out of your bathroom. One thing I noticed is all the little items on the walls - that translated to visual clutter, and you don't see that in makeovers. Then choose the colors you like. Figure out how much money you have to work with. Maybe it's just painting the walls and getting new towels. Maybe it's being able to put in a new floor. Go from there.
i would paint it a cream colour .. paint the mirror frame a colour like blue or something cool get fish decals that are a bit flashy and place them here and there your bathroom hooks on your door can even be fish to match if you place a mirror on the opposite wall it will make your bathroom seem much bigger the vanity can be painted in 2 different colours also
Hi Cindy. You can replace the medicine cabinet with a newer one or with just a mirror. Replacing with a mirror would open it up more. Paint the walls and vanity,and replace the hardware. Also add new lighting.
Paint the vanity and if so inclined use trim to update the doors/drawers. Change the lights over the mirror to something more contemporary, paint the walls removing the stars/stickers/crabs. Change up the trim around the doors. Depending upon the budget and/or your diy skill level, I would replace the medicine cabinet with an updated flush mirror and cabinets on either side... or have floating shelves on the clock wall to hold items or be styled.
Cindy, your bathroom is just like mine...tiny! In this case LESS really is more. The walls are really busy so I'd start with painting a solid color, then use towels and rugs to pull in your sea theme. I found cute seashell shaped rugs online at A Touch of Class (also check Kohls and Bed, Bath and Beyond). Check around for fish or sea cabinet pulls and hooks as well. You could get a plain wood switch plate and outlet cover at a hobby store, paint to match the wall and decorate as another accent. The mirrored medicine cabinet could be etched or glass painted to add some kelp stems along the sides or small sea life (seahorse, crabs, clams?). You might also think about attaching small bamboo/sea grass baskets to the side of the vanity to hold some of the sink clutter - or at least a towel ring to hold another accent towel. Clearly I'm a fan of the sea as well. Good luck and have fun.
The wall color is very depressing. If you paint it a lighter shade it will look better. Remove all those little tcholtkies (spelling?) and put one larger thing there. A lot of little things look cluttery, but one large thing looks good. We have a large collection of framed framed art--much of it came from calendars or library sales--and we change out what's in which room often so we don't get bored. You might try something like that. BTW, I bought two Japanese paintings at a library sale. They were glued to a nasty-looking green cardboard. We paid 30 cents for them. We rushed them to our favorite frame shop, spent $57 getting them framed, and wound up with a perfectly gorgeous two-panel artwork in one frame. Everybody who comes to the house stops and studies it. So don't ever say you can't afford good art! We both have four thumbs, but if you're more handy you can do the framing yourself.
Do you think a light pink maybe good cause I'm tired of the yellow and I have light blue through the house just wondering if it would look good in this space
Please get rid of the clock and the yellow!? Painting the walls white if you cannot afford ceramic tiles, lots of good quality towels try making a rope ladder for them, or roll into rolls & stack on a shelf. Give your- self the luxury Hotel look. Sented candle's of toning colours will give you fragrance & atmosphere. The bathroom is a place to unwind and relax, so NO clocks. Happy redecorating. Skips60
Cindy, I don't like pink because it almost always ages to be the color of Pepto-Bismol. But it's your bathroom and if you want it to be pink then make it pink.
Get rid of everything on the wall - and get yourself one large print that covers the whole area. Available at a thrift shop $20.00. I have a clock I my bath, a small one up on a shelf. Could not make it to work, without one . Always , always a clock in the bathroom. Also helps to control young person's time allotment in the bath! Just leave a soap dish, liquid soap, and maybe fancy hand cream out. Everything else, put away. AS for paint color - pick something like taupe, gold - then jazz it up with your towels, rungs etc. That way, if you tire you can switch out, without repainting.

If you get a different light fixture, and a flat mirror. That will give you a feel of a bigger area. Your cat doesn't seem to think its boring :)
