DIY "Floating" Ghosts for Halloween Decor

Outdated brass candlesticks like these are pretty common on thrift store shelves- plus, they come in all shapes and sizes! And I have a fantastic new way to repurpose them for Halloween- bet you didn't see this coming!
I use them as bases for my DIY "floating" ghosts! First, I spray painted them white (optional, but helps to hide them). Then, I attached some craft foam balls to the top of each one with my hot glue gun.
Next, I draped each candlestick with heavy white fabric. You could use a white sheet, but I found it didn't drape nicely, the way a ghost would/should look. A heavier white tablecloth, however, would be a good option.
I carefully secured the fabric in place (my no-mess secret to this step is on the blog!) and trimmed off the excess fabric. You could hem it if you'd like, but it's not necessary. Get my no mess secret here on my blog!
And then I added simple ghost "faces" with black felt! Aren't they adorable? And crazy-easy to make. Who knew those old brass candlesticks would come in so handy?? Happy Halloween!

Hi Sadie these are adorable and a great idea. If people can't find similar candlesticks you can make with a dowel or PVC pipe and a wooden base with a hole in the center to put the dowel in with glue. Thank you for sharing.
