When the heads turn brown, cut them off. Or you can wait until all of the fliwers have stopped blooming. The leaves will stay green much longer, usually. In the spring, cut stems that got higher or wider than you like back to about 2' high Or to the ground. But most hydrangea plants don't need shaping because the blooms are so full. 😇💖
