When i had pets (used to breed dogs) i added a little bit of vinegar to the water bowls and never saw a flea again

It did not bother them. Just make sure the water doesn't taste like vinegar, if it does, you used to much. I wish I could remember the ratio. 1 part vinegar to 4 part water maybe.

Have you tried diatomaceous earth? Getting rid of fleas is not easy, due to eggs that hatch even after treating. It takes several cycles and repeats of treating the diatomaceous earth. And also vacuuming daily. You can call in professionals who will use chemicals, but they will have to do a repeat treatment. checkout DE. Might be worth a try. Good luck, The little critters are so frustrating and creepy.

You need to treat your yard. If your dogs roam a very large area, it's going to virtually impossible to get rid of all of the fleas, but around the perimeter of your house will at least help. Wash your dogs regularly and keep them on flea medication. Unfortunately, the over-the-counter products no longer work since the fleas have morphed into a stronger breed. You will need to get the prescription type.

If you have cats, remember that they are carriers. They need to be on medication too.

Fleas don't like tea tree oil, you can get this from a health food store. It's about $12 for 2 ounces, ask them the ratio to mix for a spray.
