spray Diesel fuel around the perimeter of the garage. They will exit shortly, Mothballs are also helpful In tight areas.

They hate Irish spring soap, moth balls, and ammonia.

First, you must block all possible entrances! If you don't they will return no matter what you do.

The most effective thing I found for the garage is a "dessicant" for rodents. These tempt mice to eat it and then they literally dry up (think mummified) so there is no smell.

The DIY ways are spring traps, glue traps or D- con mice killer. Be careful if you have pets.

The best to do is to close up all possible holes and entrances that they can come in through- good luck :)
