I use mine to stuff full of dryer lint. When they are full I use them as fire starters in the fireplace. I keep them in an old empty Kleenex box on top of the dryer. I also use the empty rolls to paint with. Also use them standing on end in granddaughter's dresser and store socks in them. Then if I have any left overs I recycle them.
You could make some kind of craft. Go to the library and take out a book that has a craft you can do. Look through several books with illustrations, this way you can see how each step is done. You could also go to your local craft shop and see what help you'll get there. I've seen many projects made from toilet paper rolls. Good Luck!
you can fold extension cords and stuff them into the roll instead of using rubber bands which will break or stretch. label the roll the size of the cord, i.e. 6', 10' etc. the cardboard rolls last a long time and are easily replaced.
You can make a Christmas tree nativity calendar. Use a tray or platter or a board as a base. Stack and use large paper clips to hold together the empty toilet paper rolls, from the bottom row up: 7-6-5-4-3. Place a tiny treat inside each tube. My little grands like little chocolate bars, Shopkins or Littlest Pet Shop animals, metal cars, tiny bags with their favorite cereals, pretty or unusual rocks, and mini Oreos. Use the clips in front and back. Then paint only the outside tubes, green or other tree like colors, and let them dry.
Flip the tree onto the front so you are looking at the back side. Use a sheet of strong gift wrap paper, or a sheet of newspaper to glue on the backside. Squirt white glue around each tube opening, and lay the paper over all the tubes. Trim the excess paper away from the end rolls only so that you have put a "wall" on the tree. Let the glue dry.
Flip the tree on its back side. Drop a tiny treat into each tube. Keep a list of date and treat, especially if you are going to make more than one tree for the same house so you can make the treats match. Cut and glue only one sheet of green or white tissue like in gift bags, like this: Squeeze white glue around the edge of every tube opening. Lay the sheet of tissue over the whole front. Trim the outer edges of the sheet close to the tubes. Let this side dry completely.
When the tissue is dry, use manicure scissors the cut a tiny X or Y in the center of each covered tube. Then put a star or other sticker over the cut spot of each tube. Number each tube with a fine Sharpie, starting with 1 on the bottom left, all the way through 25 on the top right. When the child or adult gets up, or near bedtime, let him push in the star or sticker for that day, all the way through Dec. 25. Some people only do 24 treats, because The Christ Child is the gift for Dec. 25.
Set the tree tree upright on the base. On the top of the Dec. 23-25 row, place a star, a snowman, a crèche, or a candy cane house or another decoration. Add any other small decorations on the sides of the tree you wish, including tiny lights.

Use them for planting seeds, especially peas and beans as they have long roots. You can plant the whole thing, so no damage to the roots.
