Pumice stone. You can get rid of the color on the stain with a lot of things but you have to get rid of the build up for it to stay gone, at least until the build up comes back.
I use a few squirts of Dawn dish liquid in the toilet. Then pour in some vinegar. Swish around with a toilet brush to foam it up. Let it sit for an hour or two. Then swish again with the toilet brush and flush. The suds suspend the vinegar above the water line.
If you haven’t already, give it a normal good cleaning first. Inside the toilet bowl, right under the front lip, is an area that doesn’t always get cleaned, and clean the outside all the way to the floor, and especially the handle. With that out of the way, you can see how much stain you are dealing with. You could start with bleach, but I would pour about two cups of vinegar into the bowl and swish it around. That’s a lot of odor, but you need to leave it at least half an hour, swishing it around a couple of times. Have a fan blowing, if you can. Then use your scrubber to go all inside the bowl to make sure all mineral deposits are gone, hopefully. Flush at least two times. Then if the stains are still there, pour in one cup of bleach. Don’t swish this. Just let it set at least half an hour with the fan going and don’t stay in the room. It won’t kill you to breathe just bleach, but it won’t be kind to your sinuses or eyes. Then use the scrubber to clean the bowl with the bleach water. Again, flush at least twice to get the odor out. If there are STILL bad stains, in hardware, plumbing and building supply stores, you will find some more caustic stuff just for removing toilet bowl stains. In my experience, you would have already used the best less expensive solutions. The best expensive solutions come in bottles at stores the pros use. Best wishes 😇💞

empty a can of soda (coke or pepsi) and let it sit overnight. Then flush after using your toilet brush on it. Stains should be gone.

I have always used The Works for hard water and rust. I purchase it at the Dollar Store
