How do i get rid of creeping charlie

this stuff has taken over my entire lawn i have a dog and grandchildren who play here, so i can't just spray weedkiller on it

Promise the grandchildren their favorite cookies and enlist them to help pilling it up. Make sure you show them how to get the little nodule that is right at the soil level so they get the roots. I have even had four year olds do it successfully!

Boiling water or vinegar will work.

  I walk around with 2 kettles of hot water every morning. Once dead, remove and you can reseed immediately. If using vinegar, give it a week or so, as it washes away pretty quickly. Amend the area then reseed. If it is just an errant weed here and there, the grass will grow back by itself.
