How do I plant peppermint without it spreading everywhere?

    Plant it in containers, then you can manage how much they grow. Good luck!

    Use a metal strip about 6' wide and however long you need to put into the ground where you want to plant the peppermint. It should create a barrier to spreading.

    plant in cylinder of some kind, think coffee can with both ends off. This will keep the root from spreading

    You can plant it in a gallon nursery pot and sink the pot into the soil.

    You can't, really. You can have better luck controlling the spread if you confine it to a planting container.

    plant it in a large pail dug into the ground (depending upon the size of the pail, you may need to cut the bottom out of the pail) that should keep it confined to the are you wish

    That would have been my response, a pail or small galvanized tub.
