Start by removing the hardware, and the doors. We painted a high gloss white, easy to clean, like cleaning glass. We spray painted the hardware light gold. If you use white, you could spray paint the hardware black, to give some contrast to the doors. Whatever color you choose, try to make the hardware standout. Also, you could by all new hardware, but it gets pricey. IMPORTANT. Paint the doors on a flat surface, so it doesn't streak or glob up. Dry completely before the next coat.

First sand the surface nicely. Then add an oil-based primer and leave it to dry. Then sand the surface again and add a coat of paint on a flat surface. I usually paint with a roller, it gives the best results.

Prime and sand will make all the difference :)
