how do you know when not to paint? like, is it worth something? can it be ruined once painted?This looks amazing and I love it! I have 2 pieces but I think they're from the 30's art nouveau or deco maybe. this is Fab!

Hello @Symea , this mid-century dresser was in rough condition when purchased and it needed a coat of paint or stain just to make it look fresh and up-to-date. Most furniture looks good with a colorful coat of paint but some pieces look better as is, or sanded down and stained to resemble it's original look. In the end, we believe it depends on the owner and what they would like to do with it and whether or not colorful furniture would go well with the rest of the furniture around it.
