Best Way to Remove Wallpaper
score it well with a rolling scoring tool from hardware store. Then lay down tarps on the floors. Fill a large spray bottle with vmwhite vinegar and soak that wallpaper heavily. Go away for awhile a d let the vinegar do it's work. Wall paper should be simple to scrape right off in strips. If not, respray. Make sure to wash walls well to remove all paste. Good Luck!
There are different types of wallpaper. The older type is paper with a wheat based glue. Most newer ones have a vinyl covering with a paper backing. For vinyl I pull off the outer layer, which is the vinyl. Then I wet the paper layer until the glue losens and scrape it off with a paint scraper or any other straight edge. I have even used small dry wall blades. Paper wall paper is simply a wet and scrape. Afterwards wall's should be cleaned to remove glue residue. I use TSP for that but any good cleaner will work, NOTE: In some older paper jobs I have done the wall paper was applied directly to wall board that was not primed or painted first. This means that wetting the paper layer will also wet the wall boards paper layer causing it to buckle up. Plus the wall board cannot be cleaned. In this case, use a sander to get rid of old glue residue and prime the wall board with dry wall primer.
Hello! Holly’s advice is good. In addition, here is more information on the subject in case the wallpaper is fairly new or very, very old:
