How can I repurpose an old metal mailbox?

We want to use it at a vacation home so planting flowers in it will not work. Our vacation home is a cabin so we'd like something that along that same theme.

What about moving it inside and then using it as a letter organizer on the foyer or kitchen table?

Thanks for suggestion but I don't think that will work because it's a mailbox that sits on a post, not the type that hangs on the wall!

Close it up, drill a 1" hole in the front flap. Put it up on a 6-7' post and you have a birdhouse. You can put a cut of wood halfway down the box inside and drill on both sides for a double house.
