I'm currently repainting the house and started with the entrance area. We decided to paint the walls white in the entrance so I was facing a bit of a dilemma as to where to put our keys and not scuff the wall. I decided on a key holder. So here is how I created an adorable key holder and chalkboard for our entry way. Check it out!
I started with a small piece of 2 x 2 left over from another project and painted it silver (my walls are grey and white).
I then painted the backboard ( left over plywood) with black chalkboard paint.
Using glue and then nailing it in place, I attached 5 hooks to hold ours keys and the dog's leashes. i also painted the word 'Home' and a key on the plaque above the hooks, I love it!
The end result leaves us with not only a place to hang our keys but also somewhere to leave each other notes. I just love how it turned out and all the materials used were leftover from other projects. How great is that? Give it a try!
Enjoyed the project?
