Faux leather, as in pleather, or vinyl? Do you have any idea what the red spots are caused from?
If it would go with your jacket, you could get several embroidered patches at JoAnns and scatter them cover up the spots too.
I did this for a dress: I made 2 black marker spots on the front of the dress, and used 5 patches scattered around to cover it. Worked great! It looks as if it was made that way.
I have used hairspray to get ink marks off my leather purse, could work if the spots are ink, could work on other things.
I've used vinegar mixed with water to get stains out of faux leather.
