Hi Irene. After you put the seed down gently rake it in. I then cover the area with covering hay.
Cover it with straw so they can't see the seeds.
Grass seed needs to be covered with straw till it take root and begins growing.
Did you top the seed? That is why "overseeding" is sometimes recommended.
