I have over 700 pairs of earings and many many chains. I would love to tastefully display them all so that I could gaze at them.

Make photo frame displays. Then turn a wall in to a photo wall using frames of jewelry instead of photos. The following link gives many ideas. https://www.google.com/search?q=picture+frame+jewelry+display&rlz=1C1TSNF_enUS438&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjJpZC3mpLXAhVJ2mMKHVfPD3YQsAQIbg&biw=1707&bih=796&dpr=0.8

Get a large piece of peg board, enclose it like a frame, paint it the color of your choice, you can buy the hooks and hang quite a few pair on there.

Sheets of Styrofoam work for pierced earrings.

You win, nobody else has this many earrings. I would suggest that you show them off just like a retail display, on cards hung over wire. You can buy the cards at craft stores and use wire fence (the kind with 2 x 4 inch holes) to hang them. You can cut the fence; spray paint it black, silver or gold; turn it on it's side; and hang it from Command hooks.

I took an old shutter painted white and hung it on my bedroom wall. I then use bent Christmas bulb hangers as hooks over the slats. You would obviously need a SET of old shutters! This has worked out well for me. I can easily see what I have, and it is simple to remove pieces when I want to wear them.

I was going to hang a cloth with loose weave to use for my earrings, but then I bumped into an old netted dress sheath thing that was heading to the rag bag anyway. I hung it on a lightweight curtain rod then hung an additional one just below that for necklaces. I should have left enough room to have an additional rod for bracelets above the necklace rack and will eventually fix that.

use an old screen in a frame (made for a window.) spray paint it any color. the screen will accept posts, wires, and lockbacks. Clip backs can be put on the frame or a paper clip worked into the mesh of the screen. I did this with two screens headed for the trash. Mine measure 34"x 50" and probably have 500 pairs of earrings on them with room for more. I lean them against the bedroom wall like a display.....the earrings are grouped by color.
