Not so Spooky Halloween Tablescape

For the first time this year, I decided to create a festive Halloween dining room. Since I was short on time and budget, I stopped by the stores closest to my house (grocery store, Dollar Tree, drugstore and Marshall's) to see what I could find! With a few skeletons, pumpkins and mixing in some of my existing decor, I created a fun and slightly spooky Halloween tablescape.
My first step was to assemble everything I was going to use in one place. My staging area was my kitchen island. Halloween decor items included:
- Pumpkins (real and faux)
- Mini-skeletons
- Skeleton garland
- Fake spiderwebs
- Halloween platter
- Spiderweb cocktail napkins
Next, I gathered all the non-Halloween items that I planned to use:
- Black and white scarf for the table runner
- Blue and clear glass plates
- Natural placemats
- Black lanterns
- Mercury glass candle holders
- Milk glass platter
After laying down the table runner and placemats, I created a really simple centerpiece. Using 10 real mini-pumpkins, I piled them high on my favorite milk glass platter. Then, I added a few creepy mini-skeletons (50% off at Kroger for 8 - around $1.99) to the pile.
After the centerpiece, I added two black lanterns to either side. Some faux cobwebs later, and a few more skeletons, these now fit the Halloween theme. These lanterns often sit on our fireplace and were most recently on our back porch (https://lovelandlodge.com/fall-farmhouse-back-porch/)
For the place settings, I used cobalt glass plates (purchased from Tuesday Morning) and clear glass salad plates (borrowed from my mom). Between the plates, I added a fun spiderweb cocktail napkin. On the buffet, I added some fun skeleton garland (from the grocery store), along with some real and faux pumpkins. The mercury glass candle handles are the perfect perch for the cute "spooky" and "beware" crow pumpkins I found at CVS.
