Do I need to hire an electrician to change out breakers?

    You might want to check with your city, or at least speak to a trustworthy contractor, to make sure your new breaker box is up to code for the house. If you just need to install the breakers themselves, and not the whole box, I don't think you need a permit, but still check, just in case. Someday you may sell your home and you don't want it to be a repair nightmare for the next person who comes in, or find issues during the inspection that cause the selling price of your house to lower.

    No, if you are comfortable working with electricity. There are lots of DIY U-tube videos online to see how to do this. Just be very careful!

    No BUT, hit the MAIN breaker to shut power off to the box.

    the only reason i know to change them if 1 is bad and not "breaking" as it should. it happens.

    I say yes...and agree...when it comes to electricity in your home? Why take a chance? Hire a pro...so worth your safety and home.
