My 3 year insists that she has to be a unicorn for Halloween this year. We searched all over for a costume that would fit her but came up empty handed. I tried my best to convince her to be something different and in her threenager way she put her foot down. Lol so the search began to find what we needed. Luckily she had a white shirt and legging, so update to clothes we began.
These are just plain white leggings and a T-shirt that cam from older outfits that she had but I believe you can buy them at Walmart it Target for around $5.
we took fuzzy socks that I got from the dollar store and cut those off to make leg warmers. I made a tail and mane (hair clip) with yarn. I just wrapped the yard around the top of a dining chair until I got the thickness I wanted. Tied it off with a matching piece of yarn and cut it off. I used a piece of felt to glue the end of the tail to and then attached to her leggings with hot glue. For the mane the hair clip I used it called a banana clip. I got glued the yarn down each side and on the very top leaving a space so that it would still open and close.
i made her unicorn horn from an old Easter ears headband she had in her dress up closet. I just uses scissors to cut the fur off and wire cutters to cut the ear wires out. I made the horn out of felt. I cut a piece of felt into a cone shape and glued it together. I stuffed it with cotton balls and glued a circle of felt to the bottom to close it. I added silver string and sewed it into the top and just twined it around tightly to give it a ribbed shape. I thought it was plain so I added iridescent sequins with hot glue scattered about. I cute ears out of felt and glued them on either side of the horn and added more sequins. I thin sprayed the whole thing with glitter.
These were plain white shoes that I had decorated with acrylic jewels for her birthday. After an hour of picking those jewels off (ugh) I cleaned them up as best as I could and glittered them up! I used left over yarn to make shoe laces to match. I just braided 3 pieces of yarn together and knitted it on each side.
To the white T-shirt I got glued acrylic jewels to give it some pizazz and shine. I didn’t want to glitter it because well that would be super time consuming.
This is the final outcome from the back
And my little unicorn 🦄 from the front. She loves it.
