I've been trying to update my home room by room, and being able to make my own furniture allows me to do that!
Listed below are the basic things you need to make a table like this.
These were end/side tables. I had used them on another project, but after looking at them decided to scrap that one and start my table.
I made my own chalk paint with spackle and gray paint. I highlighted the raised areas with "patina" rub n buff. (blue)
Then, I sanded and stained/painted a 30" wood spool top with an aqua stain and mixed in the gray chalk paint I already made.
It actually dried lighter than this. I snapped picture while it was wet.
Next, I attached the two end tables together with 2" metal roofing screws.
I painted and attached a smaller spool to the bottom to give it stability and attached the top with 4 - 2" screws.
The final step was to ad nailhead trim. It gave the piece a very elegant feel.
I used it around the edge of the table top, the center where I connected the end tables and the edge of the base.
That's all there was to it! I added a 30" glass top. Now to find some chairs! "UPDATE" I made my own curved banquette bench from thrift store chairs, and have a new post to show you what I've done! Thanks for lookin' :)

Your one-of-a-kind table is gorgeous. I especially love the spindle. You have a very creative thought process. Me - not so much. I can't even put popsicle sticks together.
