DIY Candle Wraps

I found an inexpensive way to switch out decor for the holidays, DIY candle wraps! I needed fall decor to put on mantel this year, I had three plain candles already up there so I decided why not embellish them rather than buy something new?
I went to the craft store and purchased scrapbooking paper in complementary fall colors. I wanted to stay in the blue family since I have a blue area rug in my family room.
Next I warmed up the center section of the candle (where I'd be placing the paper) with my heat gun - this is the fun part!
I found it easier to do a section at a time and attach the paper rather than trying to do all the way around it at once.
Once all three candles were wrapped, I wanted to dress them up a little more. I found these cute burlap and book page flowers at the craft store. I love the farmhouse vibe of these.
Before I added the flowers I wrapped each candle with twine, two times around. The flowers had stickers on the back, so they were easy to stick on.
Here they are on my fall mantel. Total cost was about $3!

Could you use a hair dryer to heat candles, or maybe glue the paper on?

I like the idea of the candle wraps, however, I need some suggestions for something more masculine for some of my bachelor friends. Any suggestions? They need to be manly, but not hunting and fishing manly.

What if you sold them and the people light and burn them, wouldn't the paper eventually start on fire?? I have people ask me that all the time!
